[QTI] AssessmentItem identifier

Hi Patrick,

The identifier for an AssessmentItemRef does not have to be the same as
the identifier of the AssessmentItem it references.
The identifier for an AssessmentItemRef needs to be unique within (and
only within) the AssessmentTest that it is used in.

One situation where it can't be the same is when you want to reference
the same AssessmentItem more than once from within the same
AssessmentTest.
If you only reference each AssessmentItem once, and they all have a
unique identifier, then you could (but don't have to) use that
identifier as the identifier for the AssessmentItemRef also.

Then in the OutcomeProcessing for an AssessmentTest you reference the
identifier of the AssessmentItemRef + a "." (dot) + the variable name of
the variable (for example SCORE) from within the item that is referenced
by the AssessmentItemRef. The AssessmentItem involved is then found by
looking at the href attribute of the AssessmentItemRef.

Pierre

Onderwerp: [QTI] AssessmentItem identifier

Hi all,

I've been trying to find out if the identifier for an AssessmentItemRef
should be the same as its corresponding AssessmentItem?

If they are different which identifier should be used for an ItemResult
in the AssessmentResult?

Thanks in advance for any answers

Patrick
