Finalists were selected based on several evaluation factors including impact on learner achievement, impact on faculty adoption, financial return, impact on access, impact on accountability, and use of interoperability standards. The finalists have been asked to exhibit at the IMS GLC Learning Impact conference, April 16-18, in Vancouver. Final rankings and awarding of platinum, gold, silver, and bronze LIA Awards will be made at the conference based on the review of a panel of expert judges and input from the conference participants. The 25 finalists include 14 from outside the United States. 3 of the finalists represented government-led initiatives, 5 represented collaborations/use across a system or other group of institutions, 2 represented community sharing of content, and 15 represent individual institutional initiatives. 4 winners were in the research category, 6 in the new category, and 15 in the established category.
Several trends are reflected in the LIA finalists.
