SURF Foundation Joins IMS
BURLINGTON, Mass. - February 25, 2004 - IMS Global Learning Consortium, Inc. today announced that SURF Foundation, the Dutch higher education and research partnership organization for network services and information and communications technology has become a Contributing Member. Contributing Members help set the direction of IMS, guide in the development of IMS specifications and have voting representation on the IMS Technical Board.
Jocelyn Manderveld from SURF stated, "IMS is the best organization for us to join to help advance e-learning specifications. They have a proven track record of delivering specifications which are the backbone of development in the distributed learning arena."
The SURF Foundation will provide IMS with an important point of contact with the growing number of Dutch and European initiatives in elearning.
