Learning Impact

Learning Impact Innovation Adoption Learning Impact

IMS provides a complete program of activities that recognize achievement of innovative and large-scale use of technology to support and enhance learning.  IMS member organizations benefit by participating in the Learning Impact program in several ways:

  • Learning Impact Conference : A small, highly productive conference for executive teams from leading institutions and suppliers from around the world. They come to understand where we are and what is coming next in terms of truly strategic use of technology toward improving educational mission performance.

  • Learning Impact Awards: The world’s only annual awards program that recognizes effective use of technology in context to support and improve learning. Established in 2007, the “LIA” finalists are showcased every year at the Learning Impact conference where final awards are made based on the scores from a panel of expert judges and the attendees.  Several LIA regional  “run-up” competitions are  held each year around the globe to enable a region to send its highest-rated nominees. The winners are judged based on evidence in achieving improvement in access, affordability, and quality of learning experiences.

  • Learning Impact Blog: Read Rob Abel's blog that discusses community leadership for more effective use of technology in service to education

  • Quarterly Summits:IMS Members participate in and receive summaries of quarterly one-day face-to-face summits held in conjunction with IMS project group meetings. These 1-day summits address key market development topics or new specification releases. These meetings typically play a key role in defining the way forward on one or more IMS activities. The summaries are invaluable resources for IMS members who may not be able to attend the summits.

  • Member-Only and Public Reports & Articles: IMS project groups and staff produce a variety of materials over the course of the year. Some are for members and affiliates only. Many of the articles, reports, and survey results, including our online Product Directory and LearnSAT survey results, are available to the public. IMS member organizations achieve benefit from the unparalleled outreach provided by IMS in helping to develop the market for and adoption of advanced educational and learning technologies.
