Graphic/Web Designer: IMS Global, the world leader in EdTech interoperability and impact, is looking for a skilled, full-time Graphic/Web Designer who is a superior conceptualizer and visualizer. He or she should be capable and eager to provide both graphic and web solutions to help describe/visualize technical concepts related to education technology for both technical and non-technical audiences. Candidate must be able to create graphic images that foster design consistency in branding, layout, color and typography in print, digital media and web design. Node JS Developer: IMS Global Learning Consortium is looking for an independent, full stack Node.js Developer. Your primary focus will be development of all front end and database interactions of a standards based data comparison and interoperability application. You will also be responsible for integrating this application with other components and functionality developed by the team. This position is 100% remote, working as part of a small, multi-functional team. You must be confident at working alone, defining your own objectives and deliverables, be a self-starter, willing to ask questions and join the dots yourself to deliver mission critical solutions aligned to the organization’s roadmap timeframe. Learn more about the responsibility and requirements for this position.

UX/UI Designer: IMS Global Learning Consortium is looking for a Contract User Experience/User Interface (UX/UI) expert that can take our business requirements, and other artifacts as well as user research, and stakeholder feedback and translate them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes for both consumer-facing and internal-facing applications. You will builds dev-ready compelling designs and interactive user interfaces that meet the organization’s vision and bring the application to life. This position is 100% remote, working as part of a small, multi-functional team. Job Requisition: Graphic/Web Designer

He or she should be capable and eager to provide both graphic and web solutions to help describe/visualize technical concepts related to education technology for both technical and non-technical audiences. Candidate must be able to create graphic images that foster design consistency in branding, layout, color and typography in print, digital media and web design.

Responsibilities

  • Work with IMS staff to obtain an in-depth understanding of IMS key initiatives and IMS value proposition to address institution-specific challenges.
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and/or work autonomously. Amicably accepts direction from marketing and product teams and adhere to agreed deadlines
  • Independently create and manage a multitude of Graphics/Web projects from start to finish in a timely manner: collateral materials; print advertisements; web templates; email templates; landing pages; web graphics/ad banners; PDF/InDesign reports; photo editing; etc.
  • Implements web design style guides and visual standards, including but not limited to, graphics, icons, color schemes, etc.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to communicate through multiple methods with members, marketing, project management, development, and managers.

Requirements

  • Solid team communication and ability to work in a fast-paced environment juggling multiple projects, maintaining schedules and meeting tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of current design practices both online and off are necessary
  • Must have work experience using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Flash and Photoshop
  • Must have work experience with Responsive Web Design
  • Experience with HTML, PHP, and JavaScript
  • Ability to follow strict brand and visual guidelines
  • Knowledge of Drupal back-end helpful
  • Must be able to provide examples or a portfolio of previous work showcasing examples of print design, web graphics, and web design

Education

  • A minimum 4-year Bachelor’s degree

Job Requisition:Node JS Developer

Job Description

IMS Global Learning Consortium is looking for an independent, full stack Node.js Developer. This position is 100% remote, working as part of a small, multi-functional team. You must be confident at working alone, defining your own objectives and deliverables, be a self-starter, willing to ask questions and join the dots yourself to deliver mission critical solutions aligned to the organization’s roadmap timeframe.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the Node.js codebase and perform any work necessary, largely alone, to get requirements implemented on own initiative.
  • Design and implement low-latency, high-availability, scalable, and accessible web applications based on business needs
  • Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code

Skills And Qualifications

  • Full stack knowledge of Node.js including persistence to databases including Postgres and MySQL, and front end design and implementation
  • Solid understanding and experience with Docker, Google Cloud Platform, and Kubernetes, including experience deploying, monitoring and updating applications
  • Proven ability to pick up an advanced code base, of Node.js with TypeScript, which is making REST based calls to other systems.
  • Proficient using GitHub for source code control, with experience of GitFlow.
  • Understanding and have experience of working with web based security Specifications and compliance, especially Oauth2.
  • Understand and have experience of using Fluture.
  • Proficient in creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
  • Experience with user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
  • Experience designing and implementing integrations of multiple data sources and databases into a coherent system
  • Experience in the design of APIs between system components within an ecosystem.
  • Understanding of the fundamental design principles behind scalable applications
  • Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds
  • Experience in other languages and frameworks (java, spring etc) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with the team, SMEs, and the broader organization to create compelling UI/UX for the application
  • Collaborate with the team in prioritizing functional requirements and developing the design solution approach
  • Make deliberate design decisions to translate design concepts and business requirements into user stories, user journeys, storyboards, process flows, interactive prototypes, and wireframes that define solutions true to the stated goals and product vision
  • Present design concepts and deliverables to internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions
  • Ensure the design and implementation use accessibility best practices
  • Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core and new functionality and features, rapidly test and iterate designs
  • Define and adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images
  • Orchestrate and incorporate feedback from usability testing

Skills And Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role
  • Strong portfolio of both UX and UI skill sets
  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
  • Hands-on experience creating wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, user flows, etc.
  • Experience using tools such as Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, Invision, Axure,, or similar visual design and wireframing tools
  • Knowledgeable of accessibility best practices including WCAG
  • Understanding of basic front-end languages: HTML5, CSS3, Javascript
  • Understanding of Node.JS a plus
  • Strong communication, remote interaction, and organization skills
  • Self-motivated with excellent time-management and ability to deliver to deadlines
  • Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
  • Experience designing for education technology a plus
